Very impressed by this place, people and food. Visit it if you want to find out what hospitality is, and you will feel surprised. Concerning food, no words can describe it, you need to taste it. We definitely recommend the pie. Please come hungry

Nice traditional place. A good breath of air, with a spectacular view. If you want to taste a little bit of Romania, that's the place. Host are really nice, and will serve you with a big smile. Food is also delicious. I will certainly go back there with my friends.

This small and cosy restaurant serves delicious food in a very beautifully organized place. If you’re in doubt when searching for places to eat near Sibiu, I highly recommend trying out this place (especially their cheese pie ).

We really enjoyed this local gastronomic spot. It’s a very pretty place, with lovely seating and even a terrace. We also had the chance to meet the family who owns it, and they were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was very good. We tried the cheese pie that was recommended to us, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We also had the savoury crepe with sour cream, garlic, pork cracklings, and spring onion, both the crepe and the pie are family recipes, which made them even more special. We also tried the soup of the week, a pork sausage and cabbage soup, which we enjoyed a lot, it was full of flavour. Another dish we had was the sausage and bean spread. It was tasty, but I’d say the proportions were slightly off, the sausage portion felt a bit small compared to the beans. I would also have liked a bit more sautéed onions on top. The pickles served alongside were very good. Overall, I recommend this place. The owners are very thoughtful and don’t like wasting food, they packed up everything we couldn’t finish, and we enjoyed the leftovers at home.

I would rate more than five stars because “La Poarta Moțului” is one of our favorite places to eat! The food is absolutely delicious, always fresh and full of flavor. The service is excellent, and the personnel are friendly, attentive, and make you feel truly welcome every time. What makes this place even more special for us as a family, is the playground. My children love it, and it allows us to relax and enjoy our meal while they have fun in a safe space. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, great service, and a perfect place for families! P.S. the mountain cheese pie is delicious!!!

This is just a hidden gem. The place is amazing with a nice view of the fortified church on top of the hill. The food is amazingly delicious and the staff (probably all part of the family) are very kind and friendly. It is kid friendly as they have a playground right under the parents’ eyes. I recommend this place for a peaceful meal. Cangrats!

Chanced upon this place while looking for a place for dinner after visiting the fortified church. This is such a gem! We loved that they have a play area right on the ground while we sit on the rooftop deck enjoying the view and still having a good sight of the kids. And it wouldn’t be perfect without the good food. They were delicious, especially the cheese pie. We didn’t get to try the dessert but they looked really tempting. Great service too!
